Collection Procedure:

Participants must present their original valid identification document or valid electronic proof of identity (ID card, passport, Blue Card, Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau, etc.) at the collection point. No proxy collection is allowed.

*Friendly Reminder:

  • Before collecting your race pack, please ensure you bring your original valid identification document or valid electronic proof of identity and all mandatory gear to avoid wasting your valuable time.
  • Participants unable to collect their race pack in person can contact the organizing committee by phone or email within one week after the race to arrange for express delivery of the race pack. Any associated costs will be borne by the participant.

【Mandatory Gear】

The following designated gear must be carried at all times during the race. For the safety of all participants, the organizers will conduct random gear checks at various times on race day. If a participant fails to present the required gear, the organizers reserve the right to disqualify the participant from continuing the race until the gear is provided:

  • Mobile phone
  • Hydration pack or water bottle with a capacity of at least 500ml
  • Race bib
  • Sufficient cash / Macau Pass
  • Portable cutlery (for use at SP/CP aid stations)

  • Sports cap or sun hat
  • Waterproof jacket with a minimum rating of 10,000mm (for rain or cold weather)
  • Energy gels
  • Small amount of food
  • Salt tablets
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Sealed bag (for personal waste)
  • First-aid kit and emergency blanket

Any participant found violating the rules will be penalized or disqualified. Gear checks will be conducted at any time during the race. If any item is lost, the participant will be penalized or even disqualified.

It is recommended that participants read the race rules and requirements carefully to ensure compliance with all regulations and to understand any specific rules and penalties.

*Special Notes:

  1. In response to environmental protection initiatives, all aid stations/hot meal points on the course will not provide any disposable paper cups or bowls and chopsticks. Please bring your own water bottles and portable bowls and chopsticks.
  2. The race's ITRA points are currently under application. The points are estimated, and the final result will be subject to ITRA's assessment and approval.
  3. The race requires all participants to adhere to environmental protection principles. If any participant is found littering or discarding personal waste along the course, fellow participants may provide video or photographic evidence, and the highest penalty will be applied, resulting in disqualification of the race result.

Itinerary Outline

  1. Select your race category and complete the payment to register;
  2. Please provide your real personal information during registration (name, date of birth, gender, ID number, contact phone number, email, jersey size, emergency contact, etc.);
  3. If you are not from a designated country or region, when filling in the place of issue for your ID, you must enter the three-letter country code of your country or region. For details, please refer to the Appendix of Three-Letter Country Codes link.
  4. Race pack collection:
    • Macau participants: To be confirmed, please stay tuned for official announcements;
    • Participants from outside Macau: Can collect on race day from 07:00–07:30 at the Race Start/Finish Line, Hac Sa Beach Leisure Area;
  5. On race day, please arrive at the venue before your designated start time, present your e-ticket and valid identification document for check-in;
  6. Start in waves according to the organizer's arrangements. Upon completion of the race, you will receive a finisher medal and an electronic finisher certificate.

The Salomon Macau King of the Hills Trail Race has broken many people's imagination about Macau's terrain! In this small city, with its lack of high mountains, it is still possible to create a race with true trail running spirit.


This year's course connects the beautiful coastline of Coloane with ancient mountain trails, offering stunning views of Macau's unique natural scenery. There are two main categories: 24km and 10km. The course is certified for ITRA and UTMB Index points, organized by the Macau Trail Runners Association, with comprehensive support and professional safety measures.


A classic trail running event with unique local characteristics of Macau, welcoming runners from all over the world to experience the charm of Macau's trails. We sincerely invite runners from all regions to break boundaries and lead to the summit!

Trekking Pole Size:

* For trail running, it is recommended to choose a size based on height - 55cm. For hiking, it is recommended to choose a size based on height - 50cm. The overall difference should not exceed +/- 5cm, and the final decision should be based on the user's personal needs.

Important Notes

Registration Requirements:

  1. Participants in the 24km and 10km male and female categories must be 18 years of age or older (born before January 11, 2008) and no older than 65 years of age (born after January 11, 1961).
  2. Participants in the 10km Youth category must be between 14 and 17 years of age (born between 2010 and before January 11, 2013).
  3. Cross-country running races not only require athletes to have excellent endurance, explosive power, and cardiopulmonary function, but also demand skills and experience in running on rugged terrain, as well as the ability to face various challenges and difficulties, such as steep uphills and slippery downhills. Therefore, athletes need a high level of technical skill and adaptability. Participants should be in good health and have a foundation of regular running exercise or training. Participants should clearly understand the inherent risks involved in participating and undergo a physical examination at a qualified medical institution. They should assess their physical condition based on the examination report to determine their suitability for the cross-country race. Participants should choose a race category that suits their physical condition and training level.
  4. Personal data provided by registrants will be used solely for the purpose of event registration and will be processed in accordance with Law No. 8/2005 (Personal Data Protection Act).
  5. Photographs taken during the event will be used for future promotional purposes. By registering, you acknowledge and agree to this arrangement.
  6. Participants must be in good health and free from conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, and other illnesses that may hinder strenuous exercise, including:
    • Congenital and rheumatic heart disease;
    • Hypertension and cerebrovascular diseases;
    • Myocarditis and other heart conditions;
    • Coronary artery disease and severe arrhythmias;
    • Diabetes with excessively high or low blood sugar;
    • Individuals who have had a cold within two weeks prior to the race;
    • Those who have consumed excessive amounts of strong alcohol or suffered from lack of sleep the night before the race;
    • Pregnant women;
    • Other conditions unsuitable for exercise.
  7. Disclaimer: Race participants are solely responsible for their own health and safety. Please carefully assess your true health condition and participate safely.
  8. Self-Assessment: The organizing committee does not require participants to submit medical reports during the registration phase. However, it is recommended that participants undergo a self-examination to ensure all indicators are normal and to adhere to the principle of healthy participation.

 

Eligibility:

Eligibility for all race categories: Participants must be in good health and fit for sports. Please undergo a physical examination at a qualified medical institution before registering (no paper report is required for registration). Only those who pass the fitness assessment for running are eligible to register.

*Note:

  1. Cross-country races require participants to be in good health and possess the corresponding level of experience to complete the event. Please carefully assess your own condition and choose a race category that matches your capabilities when registering.
  2. By registering, participants confirm the authenticity of their eligibility and assume full responsibility. The race organizing committee will not review participants' medical reports.


Insurance:

The event has arranged personal accident insurance for all participants. The coverage includes:

  • Accidental death and permanent disability coverage
  • Accidental medical coverage

 

Disqualification:

Participants must provide true and valid information during registration. Any falsification or misrepresentation will result in disqualification, forfeiture of the registration fee, and full responsibility for any safety issues that may arise during the race.

 

Registration Cancellation:

After successful payment, participants unable to compete due to personal reasons must notify the organizing committee via email. Upon confirmation by the organizing committee, the following refund policy will apply: Applications for withdrawal received before November 30, 2026, will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee. No refunds will be processed for any reason on or after December 1, 2026. Participants must send an email to [email protected] with the subject line formatted as "Category + Name + Phone Number + Registration Cancellation".

 

Race Results:

The event will provide individual completion times and male/female category rankings for all participants who complete the designated race within the specified time limit and wear a valid bib number. Award winners will be notified of the prize presentation arrangements, which will take place on the day of the race or thereafter. Details will be announced on the race day.

Race Rules: All participants must read the following terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them upon registration.

General Rules

  1. Participants must complete the entire course by walking or running under their own power.
  2. Participants must be largely self-sufficient in terms of supplies, in addition to those provided by the organizers. All mandatory items designated by the organizers must be carried at all times during the race.
  3. Participants may only receive assistance from their pre-arranged support team at aid stations. Support is not permitted at any other location outside of aid stations, unless in case of an emergency. However, participants may purchase drinks/food from shops, restaurants, vendors, and vending machines along the route.
  4. Pacing or running with support runners is strictly prohibited. For the avoidance of doubt, no non-participants are allowed to accompany participants on the race course.
  5. Food and beverages provided at aid stations are for participants only.
  6. The race bib must be worn on the front of the upper garment and be clearly visible at all times.
  7. If a participant withdraws from the race, they must notify the nearest aid station official and sign a withdrawal form (unless assisted by medical personnel during the race).
  8. If a participant requires medical assistance during the race, they should call the number provided on their bib to contact the organizers, who will make every effort to locate the participant.
  9. Participants must follow the marked course at all times. Taking shortcuts is strictly prohibited. Participants found violating this rule will be disqualified.
  10. Participants must carry all mandatory equipment at all times during the race. The organizers may conduct random equipment checks. Participants with incomplete equipment may be subject to time penalties or disqualification, depending on the severity of the violation.
  11. Participants must comply with the instructions of aid station officials and course marshals at all times. Participants who do not reach an aid station before its closing time must withdraw from the race as instructed.
  12. Participants must not litter along the route.
  13. Participants must not damage or disturb any plants or animals.
  14. Participants must not consume prohibited or performance-enhancing drugs.
  15. Participants are responsible for the conduct of their support personnel. Support personnel must comply with all instructions from the organizers' staff and officials. Participants may be penalized or disqualified for violations or misconduct by their support personnel.
  16. Support personnel must adhere to all instructions from aid station staff, such as vacating space in the aid station area when requested. The organizers are not responsible for the safety or whereabouts of support personnel.
  17. Violations of the above rules may result in time penalties or disqualification, at the sole discretion of the organizers, with no right of appeal.
  18. Participants should consider their own safety and the safety of others, and be mindful of other users of the path at all times. Exercise extreme caution when crossing roads or running on road sections. If encountering another participant who is injured or unwell, provide assistance. Time spent assisting an injured or unwell fellow runner will be deducted from their finishing time.
  19. The organizers reserve the right to modify race rules, routes, and other arrangements at their discretion.
  20. Participants must provide true and accurate information to the organizers. Any intentional deception may result in the invalidation of the participant's registration. The organizers reserve the right to change and/or disqualify the participant without any compensation.

 

Penalties:

Violation of any race rule may result in time penalties or disqualification, depending on the severity of the offense.

Any penalty or disqualification will be at the final discretion of the organizing committee.

The following are some categories of violations:

  • Failure to carry any of the designated mandatory equipment
  • Taking shortcuts and/or not following the official race course
  • Littering by participants and/or their support personnel
  • Receiving support outside of aid stations
  • Pre-hiding supplies (including food, drinks, and other aids) along the course and utilizing them
  • Being paced by non-participants
  • Using transportation
  • Having someone else run in your place
  • Obstructing and/or causing injury to other participants
  • Consuming prohibited drugs
  • Altering or damaging race course signage
  • Damaging or disturbing any plants or animals
  • Not displaying the race bib
  • Continuing to race after an aid station has closed
  • Failing to comply with instructions from organizers, marshals, emergency response staff, and/or volunteers
  • Abusing organizers, marshals, emergency response staff, and/or volunteers, as well as other hikers
  • Giving your race bib to another person
  • Using someone else's race bib

Cancellation Policy

  • No modifications, cancellations, or refunds are accepted for this activity.


Force Majeure

In the event of extreme adverse weather, the organizing committee will activate the event's circuit breaker mechanism and reserves the right to alter the course or terminate the race early.

The organizing committee reserves the right to cancel or shorten the event due to the following reasons:

* Adverse weather conditions

* Landslides, mudslides, and wildfires occurring along the race route

* Protests, demonstrations, or road closures

* Force majeure, meaning events beyond the control of the organizer that make it impossible, unsafe, or impractical to hold the event. Force majeure events include, but are not limited to, natural disasters, war, acts of war, invasion, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, riot, civil commotion, strike, lockout, labor dispute, or unrest, blockage or impassable roads or trails, epidemic outbreaks, and acts or threats of terrorism.

* In the event of such circumstances, registration fees will not be refunded.
